Oregon GPS User Group

Procedure for Membership Application

The Oregon GPS User Group is incorporated as a non-profit mutual benefit professional organization and per the User Group Bylaws, there are two membership types: Corporate (voting) and Affiliate (non-voting). All applications for membership are voted on by the Group.

Corporate Members are defined in section 3.1.2 of the Bylaws as " persons who are duly recognized by this Corporation to be utilizing GPS in the state of Oregon for the practice of surveying or mapping". Typically this would be a surveying or mapping professional who uses GPS in the course of surveying and mapping projects.

Affiliate Members are divided into three types: Associate, Student, and Special.

Associate Members are defined in section 3.2.2 of the Bylaws as " Persons who are working in direct support of the GPS industry and the profession of surveying and mapping in the State of Oregon." Typically this would be persons who support the GPS industry such as vendors, salespersons, and trainers.

Student Members are defined in section 3.2.3 of the Bylaws as " persons enrolled as full-time students in an approved surveying or mapping curriculum."

Special Members are defined in section 3.2.4 of the Bylaws as " persons who do not meet qualifications for Corporate Member, Associate Member, or Student Member but who, by virtue of their employment, service or training, have a particular interest in, or association with, the profession of surveying or mapping utilizing the GPS. This category shall also include persons who are not residents of Oregon."

Enclose a check for dues payable to "Oregon GPS User Group". Dues for Corporate Members are $12.00 annually, and dues for Affiliate Members are $6.00 annually.
